A lady knocked on my door a few minutes ago. She said she sold perfume oils and came to see if I was interested.
If you know me personally, you know that I am not interested in such. Also, I am not an impulsive buyer in every sense of the word.
Out of a feeling to reward her guts to knock on my door, I told her to come by the weekend and perhaps there will be people in the house who would be interested.
As for me, I am definitely not buying. But then I replayed this scenario in my head, what could have made me buy from her?
You see, I need clothes. It was about time I changed my wardrobe. And I don’t just want any kind of outfit, I want professional and comfortable outfits with a few designer names.
However, I hate shopping for clothes. It has been over 10 years since I shopped in person for clothes. I always send someone to do it for me with my specifications.
You see; if she had come in to ask about my outward appearance challenges, maybe she would have a client. But because she was so preoccupied with what she had to sell, I didn’t connect.
This is how people lose potential clients
Forget about what you sell. Care about what the market wants. And the best way to do that is by asking questions.
